“Derived signal” is an audiovisual work presenting the chaos and the hidden order behind it. It uses the organic arrangement of geometric patterns, coupled with each component of the instantaneous response to the sound signal, to form a vision as complex noise. It performs an order of chaos and tries to imply that noise is not incomprehensible. After revealing the relationship, you will suddenly see the light.

Born in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, Jinyao Lin is a composer and artist based in Paris, as a postdoc researcher of École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts. He has a PH.D of computer science from National Taiwan University, a Fine Arts Master and a Bachelor of Music from Taipei National University of the Art. His works cover video arts, installation, theatre and music and has won several important awards from Taiwan and Hong Kong, “Hong Kong Dance Award 2012, Best Stage Art”, “Digital Art Festival Taipei Selected”, “KT Art Award Taiwan” etc.
