ArtFutura explores projects and ideas in the international panorama of digital culture, new media, interactive design, video games and 3D animations. Its activities include conferences, workshops, interactive installations, exhibitions and live performances. Participants at ArtFutura have included thinkers like William Gibson, Bruce Sterling, Howard Rheingold as well as artists like David Byrne, Theo Jansen, Moebius, Toshio Iwai, Improv Everywhere, Ryota Kuwakubo, Brian Eno, Tomato, Blast Theory and many others.
The festival is held every year in more than twenty cities worldwide including Barcelona, Buenos Aires, London, Montevideo, Paris, Palma de Mallorca and Punta del Este.
ArtFutura Premiere 2016/2017
The audiovisual program of ArtFutura 2016/2017 is shown in all cities where the festival takes place and includes the latest in Digital Creativity: 3D animation, music videos, motion graphics and everything related to the new aesthetics. It includes works by Nobumichi Asai, Passion Pictures, Tomer Eshed, Josan, Aardman Studios, Moth, Julius Horsthuis and others.

Montxo Algora is the director and founder of ArtFutura, the festival of Digital Culture and Creativity of reference in Spain, taking place in Barcelona since 1990.
In 1992 he directed Memory Palace, a performance show for Expo 92 based on an original text by William Gibson with images by Karl Sims and music by Peter Gabriel and John Paul Jones. In 2008 he co-curated the exhibition “Souls & Machines” for the Reina Sofia Museum in Madrid, which is, probably, one of the most visited exhibitions of digital art to date, drawing more than 450,000 visitors.
