“Absorbed” is a story about an old man trying to set up a trap. The hero of the movie is falling into it slowly as the story develops. Everything is unfolded little by little, starting in a dark city, outside of a bar. The main arc of the plot begins in the hero’s very own home: In the end, this is the place where he returns to finish his journey.

A surrealistic dream sequence is emerging from the abandoned buildings of an Orwellian and dystopian atmosphere. Our hero is haunted, failing to find peace, only if he follows the dream signs given by the old man. As the signs are given one by one, the hero’s mind starts to merge the boundaries between his so-called “known” reality and the imaginary that is unveiled before him.

The whole conflict between these two powers ends with the hero being trapped in the old man’s studio, inside the painting where he confronted his inner fears and thoughts. A key leading to his painted cage.
