Theo-Mass’ #postdigitalism, primarily refers to the exploration of new avenues dealing with the extraction of the digital into the physical, the result of which aims to create hybrid artworks; artworks that result from the cross between these two diverse realities.
In 2016, Theo-Mass was invited by Adidas Originals to join forces on an experimental project, aiming to explore the #postdigitalism concept within the context of fashion. While in the Adidas HQ, Theo-Mass was approached by Y-3 (Yohji Yamamoto x Adidas collaborative project), to explore #postdigitalism and produce work to be used for the brand’s FW 17-18 collection.
Theo-Mass’ talk, will focus on his collaboration with Y-3, giving an insight to the project, from concept to completion. Unseen material, unfinished works, early sketches and the very early mood-boards will be included in this presentation.
*October 2002 saw the birth of a new cooperation in sport and fashion with the launch of the Spring/ Summer 2003 Y-3 men’s and women’s collection. The collaboration between renowned Japanese fashion designer Yohji Yamamoto and the authentic sports brand adidas has revolutionized the industry, and created a new category within fashion. adidas represents sports, Yohji Yamamoto represents design, both symbolize true craftsmanship, and together they continue to develop the future of sportswear. With an emphasis on form and movement, Yohji Yamamoto’s signature design aesthetic is combined with traditional Japanese tailoring.
